Portfolio Strategy

Like any website design, it's important to map out a plan before the design stage. The purpose of this activity is to begin gathering all of the information we need for our future portfolio website and create a plan we can implement later on when it's time to design.

My portfolio strategy is in the form of a Google Slides presentation. Click below to view the presentation:

Are you proud of what you created here? Why?
I am proud of the way I have organized my portfolio strategy. I think it's well organized and easy to share. We actually use a similar method in my current employment when preparing for a design project.

Do you understand how you'll leverage this plan moving forward? Explain.
Yes. The sitemap and wireframe are a plan I can easily execute when creating my portfolio site and having my content inventory also makes it extremely easy to flow through the site design process.

What area of your portfolio plan do you feel is the strongest? Why?
The strongest area is the brand guide style. In previous portfolio classes, I really spent time in researching the meanings of colors, what they represent and time in gathering the look I wanted for my brand. I already had that to work with which is why it's the strongest part.

What area do you feel needs the most work? Why?
The wireframe! First, I am not too fond of creating a wireframe. The sitemap, I understand, but the wireframe seems like tedious and unnecessary work. Mainly because I like to come up with ideas and get creative as I am building the site. Plus, many things change through the website design process so it's almost unnecessary creating a wireframe. For this reason, I probably didn't put as much effort as I should have and it's not the best wireframe example. :)

What are 3 goals you'd like to set for yourself when building this site in upcoming portfolio courses?
My three goals are for the website to flow nicely, to create a good user experience and to make it beautiful!
