Self-Assessment

As I built the website I kept my original proposal open, so I feel I met most of the provisions outlined in my proposal I added the social media networds, on-page SEO (page titles and descriptions), and the sitemap is pretty similar to the original proposal. I originally recommended building the site on WordPress, but ultimately I built the site using Wix. This may be the only item I did not deliver as promised. I went from recommending WordPress, to starting out on Squarespace and finally ended up on Wix. SquareSpace was not as user friendly as I thought when I started building the site. I typically stick to WordPress or Weebly, but Wix had great website templates and turned out to be great for this project.

The most challenging part was the menu. I was trying to avoid just uploading a PDF version of the menu and I wanted to make it as visually appealing as possible. Wix offers a pretty cool restaurant app that would provide the business more visibility, but it was extremely detailed and would require a lot more time to set up. So, I ended up going with just formatted text and used graphic design principles to organize the menu content on the page.

The menu is where I would have gone deeper with more time. The other area would be the locations list. It would be awesome to include an interactive map that visitors can use to find the location of the truck in the moment.

Overall, I am really happy with the layout and the look of the website. I think it fits great with the brand and it has all of the most important features that fulfills the needs of customers and the business.
