WK3 Exploration: Team Organization

After viewing the example videos in the Challenge Guidelines, what type of video are you most enthusiastic about producing (photos with narration, original video production, animated project, etc.) and why?

After viewing the example videos, I am excited about creating a video with narration and an original video production. I have not created a video before with actual live clips within the video; I have only created videos with photos and a narration. 

Upon viewing the Challenge Guidelines, I am considering participating in which role and why?

I volunteered to take the project coordinator role and the graphics role. I feel I excel in all aspects of coordination including communication, brainstorming how things will get done and the implementation of our discussions. I also like to find and feel I do well in finding photos and graphics that communicate a message. 

Which collaboration app(s) would you suggest to your team?

I am a Google gal so my recommendation would be Google Hangouts. I have the app on my phone and through my email so I can always respond to messages quickly or jump on a hangout to discuss the project. Then again, I am an Android user, so iPhone users might have a different opinion.


What specific features make the app(s) an effective choice for the team project? (please be specific)

I find Google Hangouts to be convenient. Like I mentioned, I have the app on my phone and it's integrated with my Gmail account which I use frequently. Google Hangouts is not based on what kind of phone you have (i.e. FaceTime); its an app that's easy to use and available to everyone whether Android or iPhone user, Mac or PC user. I have also used it in the past a lot to communicate with long distance family and it has always had good quality and works well.

What do you think will be the greatest challenges to overcome in order to make your team/project successful and why (E.g., good communication, meeting deadlines, not procrastinating, encouraging each other, etc.)?

I think the major challenges is mainly that we are online students and don't know each other well. We do not see each other each day and sit in a classroom environment together which I feel makes it difficult to get things done and feel comfortable working as a group. Secondly, we all have different time zones and schedules/flexibility. I always work hard in initiating communication and collaborating to get things done. In this case, I feel it will be challenging as far as organizing the message and the video overall. But, I am sure we will do well and get it done!
